If you’ve got Pump water in your fridge, lunchbox or gym bag, it’s time to check the label. Coca-Cola Europacific Partners Australia has recalled all of its Pump Spring Water products nationwide due to a packaging fault that could create a choking hazard. The bottles were sold just about everywhere, from major supermarkets to petrol stations and vending machines, so many Australians may have one at home. Here’s everything you need to know.

Which Pump Products Are Affected?

The recall covers five Pump products:

  • Super Pump Spring Water 1.25L
  • Pump Spring Water 750mL
  • Pump Watermelon Hit 750mL
  • Pump Berry Storm 750mL
  • Pump Lime Rush 750mL

All bottles with a best-before date up to and including 22 January 2028 are included in the recall. That means the recall covers the full range of plain and flavoured Pump water currently on shelves.

Why Is Pump Water Being Recalled?

According to Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ), which published the recall notice on 3 November 2026, the problem is a packaging fault. There’s a risk that the white sipper, the push-pull drinking spout on top of the bottle, could come loose while someone is drinking. If it dislodges, it could be swallowed or inhaled, creating a potential choking hazard. The recall notice has also been shared by the NSW Food Authority.

Where Were the Bottles Sold?

Pump water is one of the most widely sold bottled water brands in the country, which is why this recall is so significant. The affected products were sold at Woolworths, Coles, Aldi and independent retailers including IGA, as well as petrol stations, convenience stores, newsagents, vending machines and other retail outlets. They were also sold online. The recall applies to every state and territory, including NSW, Victoria, Queensland, Western Australia, South Australia, Tasmania, the ACT and the Northern Territory.

What Should You Do?

If you have any of the affected Pump products at home, don’t drink them. Instead, return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. Since Pump bottles are often reused, it’s also worth checking any empty bottles you’ve kept for refilling and setting them aside.

Parents should take extra care, as Pump bottles are a popular choice for school lunchboxes and kids’ sports. If you’re unsure whether a bottle is affected, check the best-before date printed on the label.
