Domino’s India is serving up something new for snack lovers. The pizza chain has launched Dominoid, a two-slice pizza box featuring four globally inspired flavours. It follows the chain’s earlier Slices experiment and is now rolling out across the country. Domino’s describes Dominoid as “same, same but different”, and here’s what that means for your next pizza craving.

What Is Dominoid?

Dominoid is two cheesy, saucy pizza slices served in a single box, designed for one person rather than a full family meal. It’s perfect for a quick bite between lunch and dinner, when a whole pizza feels like too much but you still want something satisfying. The concept is the same as Domino’s earlier Slices offering, but the flavours are bolder and the reach is much bigger.

Four International Flavours

The biggest difference between Dominoid and Slices is what’s on top. While Slices stuck to everyday favourites, Dominoid brings four global flavours to the menu:

  • Italian Truffle: a rich, earthy flavour inspired by Italian cuisine
  • Lebanese Shawarma: a Middle Eastern-inspired option with bold, savoury spices
  • Korean Heat: a spicy flavour that taps into the popularity of Korean food
  • Mexican Sizzle: a zesty, fiery take inspired by Mexican flavours

These international options are designed to appeal to curious eaters who want to try something new, while keeping the familiar comfort of a Domino’s pizza slice.

From Kolkata Test to Nationwide Launch

Domino’s first tested the two-slice format with Slices, which launched less than six months ago and was available only in Kolkata. Slices featured classic flavours like Margherita, Cheese n Corn, Chicken Sausage and Pepper BBQ Chicken, with prices starting at Rs 99. It was pitched as a quick afternoon snack.

Dominoid takes that idea further. It’s rolling out across India and already appears on the Domino’s India website. Industry watchers see Kolkata as the practice round: test the snack format in one city, check whether customers will pay for it, then return with something more exciting for the whole country.

The Battle for Snack Time

Dominoid is aimed squarely at the afternoon snack slot. That’s a crowded space, with street food vendors, packaged snacks and quick-commerce kitchens like Zepto Cafe and Blinkit Bistro all competing for the same hungry customers. Smaller portions and lower prices help Domino’s compete by making a branded snack more affordable and convenient.

Rivals Are Remixing Their Menus Too

Domino’s isn’t the only chain shaking things up. Pizza Hut India launched Crafted Flatzz, an oval-shaped thin-crust pizza, in January 2026, followed by its Triple Spice range in August, featuring a Bhoot Jolokia chilli crust and flavours like American Nashville and Korean Red Chilli. It has also introduced an Overloaded Half N Half range, letting customers put two flavours on one pizza.

Burger chains are doing the same. McDonald’s introduced a Gochujang Butter Sauce range in North and East India featuring South Korean star G-DRAGON, while its West and South India business launched the festive Spicy Patakha range. Burger King has rolled out Korean Spicy Fest, a Peri-Peri Fest and an Avengers: Doomsday-inspired menu.

Why Fast-Food Brands Are Changing Their Menus

There are a few clear reasons behind the trend. Brands want to be part of more moments in the day, not just main meals, and smaller servings help them move into snack time. Global flavours from Korea, Mexico and the Middle East also help familiar food feel exciting again. Limited-time offers and pop culture tie-ups give people a reason to keep coming back, while lower prices make branded food accessible to more customers.

A Fun Name With a Backstory

The name Dominoid isn’t entirely new. For decades, Domino’s has used the word “Dominoids” as a nickname for its employees, a term popularised by founder Tom Monaghan. Now, the name has found a new life as a menu item.
