The cookie brand has just rolled out five new products in one go: a new permanent flavour, a gluten-free favourite, a dark chocolate zero-sugar cookie, a festive soft snack and an ultra-rare coffee cookie that only 1,000 people will get to taste.

Some are here to stay, while others won’t be around for long. Here’s a quick guide to each one and where to find them.

1. Salted Caramel Shortbread Oreos

This is the headline act, and it’s joining Oreo’s permanent line-up.

The new cookie uses two Golden Oreo vanilla wafers filled with a salted caramel shortbread-flavoured creme. Crunchy sugar crystals are mixed into the filling for added texture. The flavour is inspired by the layered caramel shortbread dessert, with its buttery base, caramel middle and chocolate top.

Long-time Oreo fans may notice a familiar taste. The creme echoes the salted caramel shortbread filling from Oreo’s earlier Post Malone collaboration, but this time it’s paired with vanilla cookies.

Where to find it: Shoppers have already spotted it at Walmart, with wider availability rolling out now.

2. Gluten Free Lemon Creme Oreos

Oreo’s lemon creme cookie now has a gluten-free version, and it’s also a permanent addition.

The cookie pairs lemon-flavoured creme with vanilla wafers made from gluten-free flour. According to Sporked, the flour blend includes white rice flour, tapioca starch, oat flour and corn starch.

It joins Oreo’s existing gluten-free range, which already includes Gluten Free Golden, Gluten Free Mint Creme and Gluten Free Double Stuf cookies.

Where to find it: It’s on shelves now, with early sightings at Walmart.

3. Dark Chocolate Zero Sugar Oreos

For anyone cutting back on sugar, Oreo is adding a dark chocolate option to its zero-sugar range.

The cookies are aspartame-free and sweetened with a mix of maltitol, sorbitol and sucralose. They follow the brand’s first Zero Sugar Oreos, which launched earlier this year.

Good to know: Maltitol and sorbitol are sugar alcohols. Eating a lot of them can cause bloating or a laxative effect in some people, so it’s best to start with a small serving.

4. Gingerbread Cakesters

Oreo is getting into the holiday spirit with Gingerbread Cakesters, its soft, snack cake-style treat in a festive gingerbread flavour.

They join the existing Cakesters range, which includes Original, Golden, Double Chocolate and Confetti Cake. Each box contains five 2.02-ounce packs with two Cakesters in each pack.

Where to find it: They showed up first at CVS, then started reaching stores including Kroger, Publix and Albertsons from October 19.

Good to know: These are limited edition, so don’t wait too long if you want to try them.

5. Oreo Thins Espresso Creme

This is by far the hardest one to get. Only 1,000 packs of Oreo Thins Espresso Creme are being made, and you can’t buy them in stores.

The cookies pair thin, crispy chocolate wafers with a smooth espresso-flavoured creme. Oreo is marketing them as an evening treat for winding down after a busy day.

How to get them:

  • Sign up on the Oreo website between October 20 and November 3 for a chance at a pack.
  • On November 4, everyone who signed up gets an email with a redemption code.
  • The first 1,000 people to redeem their code get a free pack and pay $2.99 for shipping.

The Bottom Line

With five launches at once, Oreo has something for almost everyone this season: a new permanent flavour, a gluten-free option, a zero-sugar treat, a holiday snack cake and a rare collector’s cookie. If you’re keen to try the Espresso Creme Thins, remember that sign-ups close on November 3.
